Lisa Chasan-Taber, Professor of Epidemiology, has received a five-year, $3.2 million grant from NIH’s National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive Kidney Diseases to use individual coaching and support to help Hispanic women in western Massachusetts avoid obesity during pregnancy and to develop a healthy, active lifestyle.
The life and achievements of Priscilla M. Clarkson, Ph.D., will be celebrated Thursday, October 3, 2013 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the Events Hall of the Commonwealth Honors College on the UMass Amherst campus. The former dean of Commonwealth Honors College, Distinguished Professor of Kinesiology, and triple-alumna of UMass Amherst died August 26 at the age of 66.
Our Online MPH in Nutrition program is celebrating its 5th anniversary. Started in September 2008, the program - the first fully accredited, fully online program of its kind - has now graduated 25 students. In honor of its 5th anniversary, program director Dr. Patricia Beffa-Negrini created a board on Pinterest showing off the program's highlights.
