School of Public Health and Health Sciences Computer Lab
Computing facilities for the entire Amherst Campus are available through the Office of Information Technologies (OIT). Additional computer facilities, limited to use by graduate students in the School of Public Health and Health Sciences are available in the SPHHS Computer Lab. Computer access is often available in individual departments or through computers on research projects and grants. Finally, many graduate students own (or have access to) private personal computers.
The SPHHS Computer lab has 12 Windows-based PCs in Arnold House rooms 413 and 417 and 3 PCs in Morrill room 228. These computers are for use by research assistants, graduate students and students taking graduate level courses in the School of Public Health and Health Sciences. The Morrill 228 facility is reserved for use by Environmental Health Sciences students.
The computers are networked, and share common software and printers. They are also connected to the fiber optic backbone university network to provide fast internet access.
Information for Faculty/Staff
Faculty and staff office computers can be connected to the school server. The server provides disk space for data storage, and the security of nightly backups.
The department has additional equipment available for shared use, including laptops and digital projectors, and a color printer which can be accessed from faculty/staff offices.
