Shawn Trivette

Bio
Shawn Trivette is a seventh year graduate student in residence. His interests include environmental sociology, food and agriculture, sexualities, social network analysis, and qualitative methods. His first comps paper was on the queer space of Don't Ask/Don't Tell. His dissertation work is on the social and economic arrangements and sustainable potential behind locally-based food systems. Shawn is a member of the American Sociological Association (including being webmaster for the Race, Class, and Gender section) and serves on the department's undergraduate policy committee. Outside of sociology, Shawn enjoys singing, gardening, cooking, reading science fiction, and going for hikes. He has also worked at a summer camp in Vermont outside of the normal school year. .
