Did you know that the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences has the largest percentage of majors on the UMass Amherst campus and teaches 20% of all undergraduates in any given year? In addition, our amazingly brilliant faculty is recognized nationally and internationally. In recent years we have been able to bring even more top scholars to Amherst because they like the institution and the people affiliated with it. It's no secret that the best faculty attract the strongest students. It is important to continue this kind of recruitment as we move forward our mission of teaching, research and public service.

Public universities like UMass Amherst are being called upon to respond to ever increasing demands from a growing number of constituencies. Consequently, the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences is developing new initiatives, beefing up existing programs, and lending support to a variety of ongoing educational needs across the curriculum. But in a time of dwindling funds from state government, we can't keep up the momentum without increased support from alumni and friends.

The College of Social and Behavioral Sciences at UMass Amherst is a part of your life for the rest of your life. We want your pride in the institution—and the value of your degree—to multiply by standing tall in the public eye as a world-class educational facility.
