The Executive Branch
The President serves as the voice of the undergraduate student body to townspeople, faculty, administration, and media outlets. The President has a responsibility to appoint students to faculty senate committees, search committees, vice- chancellor advisory boards, and more. The President must ensure that all areas of the bylaws are being followed and carried through. Finally, the President works to ensure that the Student Government Association works for all of its students, not just a few. As President, I will work to make sure we do our best to fairly and accurately represent all our students by working with my team to do hands-on work to gather as many opinions as we can before I make a campus-wide decision.
The Vice President coordinates and supports cabinet members; advises the Area Governors; collaborates with President Vitale in all of our projects; and sits on the University Relations Advisory Board.
The University Student Trustee is responsible for representing the voice of UMass Amherst to the highest governance body at the University of Massachusetts: the Board of Trustees. The Board deals with the long-term strategic mission and values of the University, as well as deciding on tuition and fees, appropriating a budget, and awarding tenure to professors. Each of the five UMass campuses elects a student representative to the board, where they serve alongside 17 Board members (who are appointed by the Governor), the Secretary of Education, and the President and Chancellors of UMass. This year, Emily O'Neil will be one of two student trustees with the power to vote on the Board.

RSO promotion and the New RSO Process are some of the largest projects undertaken for the year.
