Our Services

The Center for School Counseling Outcome Research is dedicated to providing services to the field of school counseling by conducting research and program evaluation, consultation, and professional development opportunities. If you are interested in obtaining our services in any of these areas, please send an email to outcome-research@educ.umass.edu.

Funding obtained through our services helps to support the Center's activities to further the field of school counseling. This funding is used to hire our Research Fellow and graduate students, and permits us to develop our research monographs and research briefs.

Research and Program Evaluation

The Center has the ability to engage in sponsored research activities, such as The Real Game and Bridges Transitions studies. Dr.'s John Carey and Carey Dimmitt are experienced researchers, and welcome requests from potential project sponsors to discuss research opportunities. The University of Massachusetts Amherst is equipped to handle a variety of sponsored research agreements, large and small, and engage in school counseling and related program evaluation activities.

Consultation

The Center is available to provide consultation to schools/districts in the areas of program evaluation and grant writing. If your school/district is in the process of writing an RFP for a grant competition, please contact us to assist with overall project and evaluation design. RFP's in which the Center could serve in a consultative/evaluative role will be given primary consideration.

Consultation services the Center can provide vary greatly, depending on your particular needs and wants. Please contact us if you would like to further explore the ways in which we might be able to support you.
