Are You Ready for The ASCA National Model?
This tool has been developed to help school counselors and administrators assess their district's readiness to implement the ASCA National Model, and to determine areas that will need to be addressed to successfully implement the National Model.
IF YOU HAVE NOT BEGUN IMPLEMENTING THE ASCA NATIONAL MODEL, completing this survey will provide you with ideas for things you can do to prepare for implementing the model.
IF YOU HAVE ALREADY IMPLEMENTED SOME OR ALL OF THE ASCA NATIONAL MODEL, completing this survey can help you assess your implementation, and help you diagnose problems if you are having difficulty implementing the model.
The survey consists of 63 questions across 7 topical areas. An article submitted to the Professional School Counseling Journal is currently in press on the survey's development and application.
The score report is based on our statistical analyses of data collected from a sample of school counselors. By completing this survey, you will help us further refine the instrument and score report by contributing your data to our database. The information you provide is anonymous, although we record your IP address to use as an ID number.
BEFORE YOU BEGIN:
- PRINT THE SURVEY AND SCORE REPORT. We recommend that you print out both the survey and the score report for your records. Since the score report is computer generated and can not possibly account for all of the factors that make your school district unique, we recommend that you use BOTH the survey and score report to conduct the self-assessment. Alternatively, you can copy and paste these into a document file. NOTE - you can not save the score report as an HTML file.
- COMPUTER COMPATIBILITY. You can complete the survey on a windows or Macintosh based computer using all popular browsers. HOWEVER, to have a graph of your scores created on your results report, you must be using Internet Explorer on a Window-based PC. 90% of all visitors to our website meet this criteria.
- INFORMED CONSENT. By clicking on the button below, you acknowledge that you are are aware your data will be submitted to our database. Other than your computer's IP address, no other identifying information is collected. We use your IP address for tracking purposes only; we will not try to identify you, your school, or your district with this information.
- IF YOU CAN NOT GET YOUR SCORE REPORT. If you have trouble getting your score report and filled out the survey, please see the bottom of the survey for directions on how to have us create the report for you.
The online version of the survey and the score report were created by Tim Poynton, Research Fellow at the Center for School Counseling Outcome Research, and John Carey, Director of the Center for School Counseling Outcome Research.
