In addition, the Center provides evaluation, organizational consultation, and professional development education services to School Guidance Counseling Programs in Massachusetts districts to enable them to:

Evaluate program effectiveness, provide models for research-backed program components, and assist districts in the process of adopting best practices
- Implement standards-based management systems.

Develop guidance curricula that a) are based on the ASCA National Standards and local needs, b) are coordinated with state curriculum frameworks, and c) lead to the measurement of student outcomes.
- Develop program accountability measures and systems.

Develop
School Counselors’ capacity to use data to plan, implement
and evaluate systemic interventions and to advocate effectively
for students.

Enhance
School Counseling Programs’ capacity to serve all students well through data-based programs that lead to measurable benefits in students’ achievement,
career/vocational planning, personal growth, and prosocial skills.

Focus School Guidance Program attention and resources on the elimination of the achievement gap between privileged students and those students who have fewer resources due to poverty or discrimination.
- Provide information about working with families and communities to best support the career and academic development of all students in the school district.
