Wing Thing Welcomes SBS Students, Tran Wins IPad
The SBS Wing Thing, sponsored by the Dean's Office, to kick off the year with great food and information on Thursday, September 16 was a big success, despite heavy rain that began about half an hour into the festivities. That didn't dampen spirits though. The hundreds who came simply scrambled into Machmer and Thompson Halls where the party continued—and the food never stopped! Representatives from all SBS majors, Career Services, International Programs Office, the Alumni Association, and more were on hand to make sure students know about opportunities that will help them get the most out of their UMass Amherst experience in the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences. In addition, all students who attended had a chance to win a brand new iPad. Congratulations to the raffle winner, Jessica Tran (communication) of Malden. "I'm so excited," she said in the Dean's Office Draper Hall while picking up her prize. "It's such a nice start to the year and it's going to be so much easier to carry around than my laptop."
Following is a photo gallery of the afternoon's festivities.
