In Memoriam

We are sorry to report the untimely death of Saige Reisler, SBS director of development, on June 6, 2009. Passionate and successful in her work as a fundraiser, Reisler joined SBS in 2007 as senior associate director of development, bringing with her more than ten years of nonprofit development experience.

She earned a BA in psychology (women's studies minor) and an MPA with emphasis in nonprofit management from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. In addition, Reisler completed a post-graduate certificate in Women in Politics and Public Policy at UMass Boston where she researched pay equity and water policy implications for women. Dedicated to numerous social causes, Reisler was on the board of directors of the Women's Fund of Western Massachusetts.

She leaves her daughter Siera, 16, mother Nancy Kirkmeyer, and sister Lisa Porter to whom condolences may be sent at 829 Burts Pitt Rd., Florence, MA 01062-3679. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 13 at 10:00 a.m., Ahearn Funeral Home, 783 Bridge Road, Northampton. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Women's Fund of Western MA, 116 Pleasant St. #358, Easthampton, MA 01027. Our warmest sympathy extends to the family on this tragic loss.
