Media Critic's Keynote Address to Appear on C-SPAN
Mark Crispin Miller, renowned media critic and professor at New York University, last week gave the keynote presentation for Communication in Crisis, an interdisciplinary conference on communication and culture. On April 9 his presentation will be aired at 1:00 pm and 11:00 pm onthe C-SPAN2 program "Book-TV." Miller spoke about serious problems with the 2004 presidential election, and other important topics not reported by mainstream media outlets. Called "one of our most important and fearless public intellectuals" by Sut Jhally (communication and executive director of the Media Education Foundation), Miller is known for hard-hitting books like The Bush Dyslexicon: Observations on a National Disorder and Cruel and Unusual: Bush/Cheney's New World Order. He has appeared on programs such as The Newshour,The O'Reilly Factor, and The Daily Show, and has performed several critically-acclaimed one-man shows, including "Operation American Freedom." 'His latest book, a critical examination of the 2004 presidential election, is titled 'Fooled Again.'
