Austerity continues to take its toll on Europe, with the exception of Germany, the E.U.'s strongest member country, and whose government strongly supports austerity for other countries. Economist Robert Pollin has just returned from a major E.U.-wide conference discussing the broad implications of the financial crisis and its aftermath.
