Displacement and What that Means to Echo Village Tenants

The Landscape Architecture and Regional Planning class, Urban Policies, last spring made a video about and for residents of Echo Village, which had been created as affordable housing for Amherst residents. When the new owner of the complex announced a substantial rent increase, it caused not only distress for the occupants who could no longer afford their homes, but also affected the Town of Amherst with the loss of affordable housing. Professor Ellen Pader guided the project.
