“Wind Power and Environmental Conflicts in Portugal: The Social Construction of Landscape" presented by Professor Ana Isabel Afonso, New University of Lisbon, Portugal.
Professor Afonso is a renowned scholar in the fields of applied and environmental anthropology. She is author of Sendim – Planalto Mirandês: Valores em Mudança no Final do Século XX (Sendim -- Mirandês Highlands: Changing Values at the end of the Twentieth Century) and co-editor of Working Images: Visual Research and Representation in Ethnography (Berghahn: 2004), among other works. This semester, Afonso is a Fulbright Schuman Scholar in residence at the UMass Amherst Department of Anthropology.
