Celebration of the Institute for Social Science Research

The mission of the Institute for Social Science Research is to promote excellence in social science research. ISSR offers a variety of programs aimed at supporting the development of methodological skills and tools for social scientists, advancing the meaningful participation of social scientists in interdisciplinary collaboration, assisting in the development of proposals and administration of funded research projects, and promoting the visibility of cutting-edge social science research.

Please join us and our special guests Chancellor Kumble R. Subbaswamy, Provost James Staros, and Vice Chancellor for Research and Engagement Michael Malone.

Our featured speaker will be Michèle Lamont, Professor of Sociology and African American Studies and Robert I. Goldman Professor of European Studies at Harvard University. She will present a talk on “How Professors Think Across National Contexts,” discussing responses to her book How Professors Thinkthrough the lens of the evaluative cultures of peer reviewers and policy experts.

A buffet lunch will be served.
