After 35 years, New England Saxophone Symposium is now...The New England Saxophone Festival & Competition! Celebrating the stylistic diversity that the saxophone offers to music lovers of all stripes, the 2018 Festival features concerts and interactive clinics by Yosvany Terry Quartet (Afro-Cuban music), The Moanin’ Frogs (popular chamber music), Felipe Salles (jazz), and Jonathan Hulting-Cohen (classical). Special this year is the premiere of Stacy Garrop’s Quicksilver for alto saxophone and orchestra by Prof. Hulting-Cohen, Matthew Westgate, and the UMass Wind Ensemble. There will also be performances by top collegiate saxophonists from the region, as well as the 4th Annual High School Saxophone Competition, featuring some of the Northeast’s brightest young saxophone stars.

With our renewed commitment to building a community of saxophone enthusiasts and saxophonists alike, we invite you to bring your horn to rehearse and perform with the New England Community Saxophone Ensemble, led by The Moanin’ Frogs. It will no doubt be a blast!

We are grateful to our product sponsors for their support. They will be showcasing their latest saxophone equipment, which we encourage you to try. The event is open to all saxophone enthusiasts; we hope to see you there!
