Dear prospective attendee,

As organizers of a community event, we intend for the New England Saxophone Symposium to be accessible to the greatest number of community members possible, regardless of ability or special needs. The following addresses the measures and resources we currently have in place and describes limitations we are not able to accommodate due to physical space constraints.

Bezanson: All events in Bezanson Recital Hall are accessible to patrons with mobility restrictions. There are gendered restrooms on the same floor, also wheelchair accessible.

Gender Neutral Restrooms: There are no gender-inclusive and lockable single-user toilets on the same floor as Bezanson. There is one restroom upstairs, accessible outside and up the ramp, and another by Room 36 and Room 44._ _The Stonewall Center keeps a list of such restrooms across campus: http://www.umass.edu/stonewall/bathrooms/. The following is a map demonstrating where these restrooms are: http://www.umass.edu/disability/Accessibility%20Map_web.pdf

Parking: There are 4 parking spaces behind the building requiring a Disabled Parking Placard or Plate. There is one additional unreserved space that is van accessible, and four additional spaces open to anyone that we can reserve for you if need be. Please let us know two weeks in advance if you would like us to reserve you an accessible parking space. Otherwise, parking will be across North Pleasant Street in Lot 62.

Registration and sponsors' tables: The registration table and sponsor booths are down one flight of stairs, or accessible (without stairs) from the parking lot behind the building. We know this may be less than ideal for some attendees, so we are offering several alternatives. All attendees can register online at this link, which will eliminate the need to access this table. When you arrive please inform an usher and we will retrieve your name tag. If you are unable to register online, we ask that you bring cash to facilitate the transaction, since we would need to bring our one credit card machine upstairs, disrupting our downstairs registrations. If this does not work for you, we will find a way to make it work!

Luncheon and talk by Vandoren: This event is housed in on the ground floor (Room 44), which is only accessible by stairs or a freight elevator from the level of the registration table. If you can get to the level of the sponsors, we can get you the rest of the way. Either way, you are entitled to the meal provided by Vandoren and we will put together a plate for you. Gluten free and vegan/vegetarian options are available.

Breastfeeding: Our building does not feature any rooms specially equipped for breastfeeding and pumping, but there are resources in the Student Union, Whitmore Administration Building, and Integrative Learning Center. Information is available here: http://www.umass.edu/ofr/support.php

Thank you for your patience. We are sorry our building is not better suited to use by all humans, and we are trying our best to make sure everyone can attend.
