Congratulations to Erik Anundson (pictured above) for being named one of three winners for the 2013 University of Massachusetts Orchestra Concerto Competition. Erik will be playing the 1st movement of the Dubois Concerto.  This is the third consecutive year that a Saxophonist has been one of the winners.  Previous winners are Mat Schumer in 2011 playing the Debussy Rhapsody, and Jeff Soffer in 2012 playing the Glazounov Concerto.

Congratulations also to the Sophomore Saxophone Quartet (pictured below), Erik Anundson, soprano, Benjamin Porter, alto, Tyler Appel, tenor, and Zachary Robarge, baritone for their selection as the Massachusetts representative for the Music Teachers National Association Collegiate Chamber Competition, and for placing second in the Eastern Regional.  Congratulations also to the Eastman Quartet for being named the winner.  If the Eastman Quartet can not represent the Eastern Division, Erik, Ben, Tyler, and Zach will represent the division.

Congratulations to Rodney Zuroeveste, recent member of the Saxophone Class as a graduate student, for being named the Saxophone Instructor at Boise State University.
