Study Hall

Who must attend?
All freshmen must attend; advisors and coaches will evaluate academic performance after the first semester to determine who must continue to attend.

Where is Study Hall held?
Study Hall is held in our Academic Enhancement Center in Boyden.

When do I attend Study Hall?
You should complete your Study Hall hours between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday (5:00 p.m. on Fridays). After meeting with an advisor, you'll complete a study schedule specific to you. The A.E.C. is open until 9:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday for all student-athletes to use. If you cannot finish your study hall hours before 6:00 p.m. (5:00 p.m. on Fridays) due to time constraints, you must obtain permission from your advisor ahead of time in order to stay later.

How many hours do I need to complete?
A good suggestion is two hours per day, or 10 hours per week, depending on what your team guidelines are.

Are there any specific rules in Study Hall?
Yes! Study Hall affords you a chance to complete your class assignments in a quite area. Please be respectful of those around you. Headphones are allowed, as long as they cannot be heard by anyone else. Also, you must sign out if you will be leaving the Academic Services area for longer than a minute or two.

Can I count my tutoring appointment as Study Hall time?
No, not unless it is absolutely necessary due to time constraints and you have permission from your advisor and head coach.
