UMass Grading System

The Official Grading System is as follows:

GPA Calculator

To calculate a semester GPA:

1. Multiply grade point equivalents for course by number of course credits. (Ex: 3.0 x 3 = 9)
2. Add quality point equivalents for all courses to get total quality points. (Ex: 7.5 + 16 + 9 + 9 + 4 = 45.5)
3. Add number of total credits attempted. (Ex: 3 + 4 + 3 + 3 + 1 = 14)
4. Divide total quality points by total credits to get semester GPA. (Ex: 45.5/14 = 3.25)
