Richard Tessler has been on the faculty at UMass since 1973, and is currently serving as a research fellow for the Center for Research on Families (CRF) at UMass. He has co-authored three books and over 50 journal articles in the areas of medical and mental health, social psychology and childhood. He is a past recipient of a Career Development Award and research grant support from the NIMH and private foundations.

Areas of Interest: Mental Health, Medical and Social Psychology, Family Burden, Continuity of Care and the Recognition of Depression, Family Experiences with Mental Illness, Veterans and Homelessness, International Adoption
