[Tues 10.20.2009]
Greetings from the Land of Midterms!
I hope that none of you are sufficiently worn out to the point where you couldn't even stagger to the club meetings.
So, the meeting this week is in no other room than, guess where, French 209!
Bet you saw that coming from a mile away. So!
French 209, from 6pm to 11pm, on Tuesday, October 20th.
See you there!
[Tues 10.13.2009]
Well well Well!
Welcome back to the daily drag of classes! I hope you all remember
that we all have to conform to the lunacy of the school's schedule,
and that we have Monday classes?
But fear not! Just because the school doesn't make sense doesn't mean
we can! There WILL be a meeting tonight!
The meeting will be in French, room 209, same as last week. Meeting
starts at 6 pm and goes until 11pm. I hope to see you all there, and
hopefully this time it will work!
[Mon. 10.5.2009]
And so it shall come!
This week will be held in a NEW place! A place of many wonders, where
(or so I guess) quite a few of us have never even heard of.
We will be in French 209.
So, I hope you all can find the building. the directions are fairly
simple. it's RIGHT NEXT TO Franklin Dining Commons.
Time of meetings and day are the same, Tuesday, from 6pm to 11pm.
Please bring any anime you would like to vote on for open showing. In
case you don't know, the scheduled showings are Read Or Die, and
Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei.
Also! A new and nifty website is available now!
Campus Pulse is the new UMass Amherst Facebook for all RSOs and their members!
http://umassamherst.collegiatelink.net/Community?action=getMyHome
Just log in, and find the Anime and Manga club! The sooner you join,
the better! this way, you can get updates from all of the RSOs you
might be part of, as well as be informed as to what other RSOs you've
never even heard of might be up to. It's a great way to stay updated.
Join soon, please!
So, I hope to see you all there, at the new meeting place this week! Peace!
[Mon. 9.28.2009]
scene 1->
you're hanging out in a corridor, waiting for class to start.
Suddenly, one of the officers of the UMass Anime Club approaches you,
and asks whether you know where we're meeting this week.
No, you reply, Where are we meeting?
The officer replies that the meeting will be at the same times as
usual, on Tuesday, September 29th, in Morrill N329. Will you be there?
I hope so!
[Sun. 9.20.2009]
Hey!
You're hanging out in your dorm room when you decide to check your email. Who's the new message from?
The Anime Club!
Now, what do we have to say?
Why, that there's a meeting Tuesday, from 6 to 11pm. And it's going to be in the Campus Center, rooms 904/908.
Well, that's nice and clear. Anything you should bring?
Why, yes, please! Any anime you feel would be good for Open Showing is very welcome!
I don't remember what the Scheduled Showings are . . .
These are R.O.D. the TV series, and Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei.
Hey, are there any other anime-related things going on nearby?
Yes, there are! We have been informed that Hayao Miyazaki's Ponyo is currently playing at the Amherst Cinema. Information can be found at these links;
http://amherstcinema.org/?q=films-and-events%2Fponyo
http://fast.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=7814
Also, Eureka Seven - good night, sleep tight, young lovers - is going to be playing on Thursday, September 24th (next week) at the West Springfield Showcase Cinemas (it's located at 864 Riverdale Road, right off of I-91). Links for information are

Both of these are the English Dubs, just to give fair notification.
Is that all?
Well, yup, just about. I would just like to send out word to those folks who don't already know, we do have a facebook group, and, of course, the website!
Meeting places and times will be posted up there as well, so if you forget (or accidentally delete the email) the information, along with lots of other info, can be found there!
Hope to see you at the meeting!
[Mon. 9.14.2009]
Welcome one and all! I have the great pride to announce the first
meeting of the UMass Anime and Manga Club for the Fall 2009 semester!
Soooo, Where and when, you wonder? Why, what an excellent set of questions!
We shall be meeting in the Campus Center, on the 9th floor and (hold
on, folks!) it will be in the resplendent room 17! Plenty of space for
all, and a great schedule we have set up! Starting at 6 pm will be the
Officer's Pick, chosen by yours truly, followed up by a business
meeting, and then the two Scheduled Showings, the brilliant Read or
Die, the TV series, and Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei! After that, there's
the open showing, so if you've got an anime you feel is particularly
worth showing, Please, Bring it up!
I hope to see you all there, and welcome you to the UMass Anime and Manga Club!
[Mon. 9.7.2009]
Holy crap, it's that time already?
Well, Ladies and Gentlemen, I feel honored to grumble and gripe alongside you as we shuffle back towards campus (though, in our hearts, we've already forgotten how bad classes and homework can be, and are actually kind of really joyously glad to be back).
And I can give you another reason to be glad! The September Marathon has been arranged, and I can tell you where and when it is!
The first marathon will be on the first Saturday of the semester. For those who don't feel like doing the math, that will be on September 12.
LOCATION!
Marathon will be held in Morrill N329.

[Wed. 5.20.2009]
Hey there, everyone!
So I know this is the last of the semester, but there are still some
announcement-Hey! sit down there, you can stand to listen to
these!-right, announcements that need to be said before you all go off
and enjoy the summer.
So, first things first!
The scheduled showings have been declared as of now! The winners are
R.O.D, the television series, and Sayanora Zetsubou Sensei. We hope
that you approve of these, and hope that you will enjoy them in the
coming semester.
Also to announce, there is some wicked awesome stuff going on during the summer!
If you're in Boston, and hunting for things to do, look no further!
The New England Browncoats – fans of most things Whedon, have notified
me of a couple of events going on in June.
1. June 19th, Amber Benson, Christopher Golden and Tom Sniegoski will
be doing a one night signing at Pandemonium Books in Cambridge. Amber
and Chris have done the Animated series Ghosts of Albion for the BBC.
2. June 20th will be a showing of Dr. Horrible and Serenity at the
Coolidge Corner Theatre in Brookline.
If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact Shelley Hachman
at dawnsister@comcast.net
Even if you are not interested with these, I still recommend checking out the website of the Coolidge Corner Theatre. There are many showings that are cult classics, and definitely worth seeing!
Next off, there has been great noise over a new band that is going to
be in the USA during this summer, and they're called the VAMPS. The
band is a collaboration of L’arc~en~Ciel’s front man HYDE and Oblivion
Dust’s guitarist K.A.Z. They'll be here for 3 weeks, playing in 10
different cities. If you would like to learn more, check out their
official website at vampsxxx.com.
Alright, that's it. I hope you all have a great summer and don't get
too banged up, We don't want anyone in casts when they get back here.
I hope to see you at the awesome anime cons that will be held during
the summer, and I hope that you have a great time!
See Ya!
[Tues. 5.12.2009]
Dear members of the Umass Anime Club,
I am sorry to inform you that this is the end. The last meeting of the
semester is finally upon us. We have gathered faithfully every week to
celebrate the art form known as anime, and now that time is over.
I hope that you may join me for one final viewing in Morrill, room
N329, at 6 pm, on the date of 12 May 2009, so that we may mourn the
end of this time together.
But let us not mourn long! For while we sigh in sorrow, there is still
work to be done, if we are to celebrate the coming of a new semester
this autumn! We must choose, for our own greater good, the scheduled
showings that will be presented. This past week, the office has been
open for early votes, but this Tuesday, the voting and debating
culminate. We will choose two anime to stand tall, and be shown each
week, and every week, before our open showings. So I ask of you, come
and help us choose. Help, so that you may have a pleasurable semester
come the fall.
I urge you all to do your duty, as members of the Umass Amherst Anime Club!

Notice: it appears that there is going to be a meeting of anime otaku within the next week.
Our information is limited, but here is what our scouts have been able to pick up:
They plan to meet on Tuesday, 28 April 2008, from 6pm to 11pm in Morrill N329. We have also been notified that they intend to bring their own supplies of anime. We are unsure of the reason for their gathering, but we do know that seem to be an overall peaceful group. We believe that interaction is possible, and even welcomed.
Hopefully, we might be able to learn more of this unusual group of people, and might be able to learn more of their customs given more time.
In a completely unrelated note, the photos from the Iron Cosplay are up! Check them out here!

[Thurs. 4.16.2009]
I apologize for the shortness of this note, but they're after me. The Zombies have attacked! They swarm the campus, feasting on the brains of my friends and allies. I just managed to hide from them, but there is a time that we must fight, and that time is now. I just wanted to leave this information for all those who might be left. We shall meet in Morrill N329, tuesday at 6pm, as usual. It's a safe zone, so we will be able to conduct the meeting as close to normally as possible. Bring whatever anime you can, so as to extend the time we can cower in safety.
May we fight for all that is human, and defend our bretheren from this terrible plight.
Good luck.
[Mon. 4.13.2009]
To the members of the Anime Club,
I bear the great pleasure in inviting you to the weekly meeting of the
University of Massachusetts Anime Club. It will take place in the
Morrill building, in the northerly annex, room 329 and is scheduled to
begin at 6 pm on Tuesday, 14 April 2009, and will run until
approximately 11 pm. You are welcome to come at any time, and to leave
at any time. I do request that you bring whatever samples of anime you
might have at your convenience, and hope that you might enjoy the open
showings.
Hoping for your attendance,
The UMAMC Webmaster

Hallo!
As you may remember from last meeting, this week's meeting (Feb. 10) will be in the same spot and time as last week's; room 803 of the Campus Center, 6:00 PM. From then on, we expect to be back where we usually are. The scheduled showings, for those who don't know, are Black Lagoon and Kare Kano, in that order.
We ask that you bring in plenty of anime for the open showing. Also, we are still accepting T-Shirt designs from those who are submitting. Be sure to bring those with you to the meeting as well!
[Sun. 2.1.2009]
Hallo, everyone! After what feels like ages, I can finally announce a meeting! This Tuesday (Feb. 3) is the date. As for the place, big news! We will NOT be in any of the usual meeting places. It looks like we're going to be in the Campus Center, room 803.
Again, for those who don't know, the regular showings are Black Lagoon and Kare Kano. If you don't know the order of the showings, the latest poster is on the site here. We ask that you bring plenty of your anime for Open Showings!
[Sat. 1.24.2009]
As we haul ourselves back to campus, we register the fact that it is indeed a new semester. and what does that mean?
Anime Club!
I'm sorry to inform you, though, that there isn't a meeting in the first week. Which means that for those who still need to brush up any last-minute submissions for the T-shirts, this is your chance! Or for those who are suddenly struck with inspiration, you now have time! If you still need a little more time, just let us know. Can't wait to see everyone back on campus!

| Fall 2008 |
| [Tue. 12.23.2008]
Just a little reminder; T-Shirt designs are due at the beginning of the Spring 2009 semester, no if's, and's, or but's. The artwork should preferably feature the club's mascots (which can be found at the bottom of the Club Info page, here), but if there's something else . . . why not? Voting will happen near the beginning of next semester, where we will choose the winning design. So put pencils to paper, styluses to tablets, and mice to mouse pads, and send those designs to the club's email!
[Tue. 12.16.2008]
And so the Fall 2008 semester comes to an end . . . and with it comes a new Webmaster, and a new regular showing for next semester, Spring 2009!
The new regular showings will be these:
Black Lagoon
Kare Kano
There will be an update informing all of where and when this will be, but not now. Instead, let us all thank Sharon for all her efforts as the former Webmaster, for which we would have all been in the dark without. Good luck for the future, and we look forward to the time you randomly decide to drop by.
Lastly, good luck to those people who still have finals, and congrats to those who are done. I look forward to seeing everyone next semester, and hope that you all have a great Holiday break! [Fri. 12.12.2008]
Hey everyone, we got our end of the semester marathon tomorrow (Saturday 12/13) in Morrill N329. there's a bit of a change up to the schedule from the last time I posted it, so pay close attention. The lineup is:
12:00-1:30 - Gunsmith Cats
1:30-3:40 - Blue Submarine No. 6
3:45-5:00 - Kujibiki Unbalance OVAs
5:00-6:00 - 5 Centimeters Per Second
6:00-7:00 - DINNER!!!
7:00-8:50 - Metropolis
9:00-11:00 - Gundam F91
Hope you guys and enjoy it and I wish all of you good luck on your finals.
[Mon. 12.8.2008]
For our final meeting of the semester, we'll be in Thompson 104. During the business meething this week we'll be voting on what to watch for our main showing next semeter, of which we showed the first episodes of last week. In case you forgot but want a refersher, those were:
Black Heaven
Black Lagoon
Dennou Coil
Kare Kano
Kino's Journey
Nodame Cantabile
Princess Tutu
We'll also be voting on a new webmaster, as are previous one will sadly be leaving us. Please bring a pen or pencil to do the voting with, as we don't have nearly enough to supply you all.
Also, after the voting, we'll be having a total open showing, having enough time for roughly 2 episodes of 5 different series, so bring lots of stuff.
Last thing, wanna remind you all that we have a marathon this Saturday (12/13) in Morrill N329 from 12:00 - 11:00. You can look at the line up here, or click on the marathon tab over on the left there under Schedule.
[Mon. 12.1.2008]
Hey all, hope you had a good Thanksgiving. Mine was meh. But enough about me, this week's meeting is in Morrill N329. The schedule is a little different this week, so pay attention. As we've now finished Kurau, we'll be starting Genshiken at 7:00 and watching the last 3 episodes. After that, instead of an open showing, we're showing the first episodes of all the shows up for vote to watch as the main showing next semester. The actual voting won't be until next week, but if you want to have an idea of what the show you're voting for are like, don't miss this.
[Sun. 11.23.2008]
We're back in Morrill N329 again this week. Just so you all know, we'll be watching the last two episodes of Kurau: Phantom Memory this week, and the following week (12/2) we'll be watching the last 3 episodes of Genshiken. Also on 12/2, in place of the open showing, we'll be watching the first episodes of all the series up for vote to watch as the main showing next semester. We're still taking ideas for what to put on the ballot, so if you've got ideas, be sure to email us or just come tell us at the meeting or in the office. The actual voting for what we watch won't happen till the following week (12/9), but you'll wanna have an idea about what the stuff you're voting for is like, so I suggest you come and watch.
Anyways, hope you all have a great Thanksgiving!
[Sun. 11.16.2008]
Pay close attention to where we are this week, we're NOT in the usual room. We're in Morrill 2 room 131, so same general area as the normal room, but just in another building. Also, for those of you who didn't go to Get Your Geek On, the dance at Mount Holyoke, you missed out cuz it was a BLAST. You should all totally go next year.
[Mon. 11.10.2008]
We ARE having a meeting this Tuesday (11/11), despite it being a day off. We're in Morrill N329, so no wandering around looking for us like last week.
[Sun. 11.2.2008]
This week, just for variety, we're off over in Engineering & compsci 119 (aka Engineering Lab 2, room 119). For those of you that don't know, you can find it on this map here marked in orange.
And, for those of you who were at our marathon, we ask that you not forget the great man that was Pig, nor the noble sacrifice of Water Elephant.
[Mon. 10.27.2008]
We're back in Morrill N329 again! Which is good, cuz we have the COSTUME CONTEST tomorrow, so if you've got a halloween costume, preferably one that's cosplay but not a necessity, come wear it to the meeting tomorrow. The contest will be during the business meeting, so between 6:30-7:00. There will also be prizes, so no reason not to give it a shot.
Also wanna remind everyone that we're still doing that mascot contest, so if you can draw and are interested in maybe getting a free t-shirt if your design wins, then get on that.
Finally, we have a HALLOWEEN MARATHON this Saturday (11/1) in Morrill N329. I'll repeat the schedule so you don't have to scroll down to it in the last post:
Hellsing 12:00 - 4:45
Cat Soup 4:50 - 5:25
Kakurenbo 5:30 - 6:00
Dinner 6:00 - 7:00
Spirited Away 7:00 - 9:10
Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust 9:15 - 11:00
We'll probably have some candy for you to eat at the marathon too. It's a real treat....and totally not a trick.
[Sun. 10.19.2008]
Ok everyone, this week we're in Thompson 106. We're NOT in Morrill. So don't go there, cuz nothing involving anime will be going on there. If you've never been to Thompson before and don't know where it is, just click on Meetingplaces over on the left there under Club Info, it has a map with our usual places marked, including Thompson.
Also, wanna remind everyone about the Halloween marathon again, which is Satruday November 1 in Morrill N329. Line up is in the previous news post, or under Marathons on the left.
I'd also like to remind everyone that on the 10/28, the meeting on the week of Halloween, we'll be having a costume contest during the business meeting (6:30 - 7:00) with prizes, so if you have a costume, whether it be a cosplay or just a regular costume, then feel free to bring them (or wear them there) and participate.
One final reminder, we're still accepting designs to be put on shirts, so if you're planning on doing one, get on it and email it to us when it's done. If your design gets picked, you'll get a shirt for free!
[Sat. 10.11.2008]
We're in Morrill N329 again this week. And yes, we're meeting on Tuesday as normal, despite the fact that it's a Monday schedule. Hope that doesn't mess anyone up too much and they can still make it.
That aside, we also have a Halloween marathon coming up! It'll be on Saturday November 1 (11/1) from 12:00 - 11:00. Here's the lineup:
Hellsing 12:00 - 4:45
Cat Soup 4:50 - 5:25
Kakurenbo 5:30 - 6:00
Dinner 6:00 - 7:00
Spirited Away 7:00 - 9:10
Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust 9:15 - 11:00
Hope you all enjoy our marathon of blood and horror!
[Mon. 10.6.2008]
We got confirmation, we're once again in Morrill N329. We're pretty lucky to keep getting the same room like this, we normally get shoved around to another room or two by now. But it could still happen any week, so keep checking for our meeting locations.
[Sun. 10.5.2008]
We haven't gotten room confirmation yet for the meeting this week, so just hold tight and we'll let you know the second we find out.
[Sun. 9.28.2008]
We're in Morrill N329 again this week. Nothing else new to report. Come one, come all, and have fun.
[Sun. 9.21.2008]
We're once again in Morrill N329 this week. For those of you planning to bring stuff in to open showing, in order to avoid getting flooded like last week, limit what you bring to 2-3 titles. We love that you're all so gung-ho about bringing your stuff in (member participations is always greatly appreciated), but this way we won't have to turn people's stuff away like last week. Thanks and see you all Tuesday.
[Sun. 9.14.2008]
This week's meeting is once again in Morrill N329. Looks like we'll be able to meet there for the next couple of weeks, but after that we might start getting moved around, so be sure to keep checking every week to see where we are.
[Mon. 9.8.2008]
Hey all. As of the time I'm posting this we don't yet have room confirmation for our meeting this week (getting rooms at the beginning of the semester is always a hassle). By the time we find out where we are I probably won't get a chance to post it here, so be sure to check your email before the meeting if you're on the mailing list cuz we'll send one out as soon as we know where we are, or else just drop by our office and ask us.
Also wanna thank everyone for coming to the marathon, that was the best turn out we've ever had I think. You're all awesome.
[Mon. 9.1.2008]
The marathon on Saturday 9/6 (schedule in previous post) will be held in Morrill N329. If you don't know where that is, click on meeting places under club info on our little index to the left. Hope to see you all there!
[Mon. 8.18.2008]
Well, the fall semester is fast approaching, so time to announce our beginning of the semester activities! Our first standard meeting will be Tuesday, 9/9, where we'll be showing Kurau: Phantom Memory and Genshiken as our main showings. But before then, we have our AnimeFirst marathon on Saturday 9/6, at the end of our first week of classes. The line up for the marathon is:
Lupin III: Plot of the Fuma Clan 12:00 - 1:15
Diebuster 1:20 - 4:20
Perfect Blue 4:25 - 6:00
Dinner break 6:00 - 7:00
Evangelion: 1.0 You Are [Not] Alone (movie) 7:00 - 8:40
.hack//GU trilogy 8:45 - 10:25
Come for some of it or come for the whole thing, we'll be happy to seeing you all there! The location of both the marathon and the first standard meeting will be announced closer to the actual events, so be sure to check back before hand to see where we are.

[Sun. 5.18.2008]
First, wanna thank everyone who showed up to the marathon, hope you all had a good time. Second, we'll now announce what we'll be watching next semeter! The winners that you voted for are:
Kurau: Phantom Memory (24 episodes)
Genshiken (season 1 12 episodes, 3 ovas, season 2 12 episodes, total 27 episodes)
Hope to see you all here again next semester! For those still taking finals, good luck, and happy summer everyone!
[Wed. 5.7.2008]
Hey everyone, the next meeting (5/13) is in Morrill N329 again, and it's our last of the semester, so we'll be doing the voting for stuff to watch next semester. Be sure and show up if you want to have a say in what we're watching (if you forgot, the stuff we're voting on is in the newspost below this one). Other than that, since we've already finished watching our main stuff, after the voting it'll be a total open showing! We'll be watching 2 episodes of 5 different anime, so bring in lots of stuff.
I'd also like to let everyone know that we'll be having a marathon on Saturday the 17th (5/17), also in Morrill N329. Here's the lineup for you (or click the link above to see our pretty flyer):
12:00 - 1:30 Clannad Movie
1:30 - 4:45 Photon: The Idiot Adventures
4:45 - 6:00 I Can Hear The Sea
6:00 - 7:00 Dinner
7:00 - 9:00 Brave Story
9:00 - 11:00 Patlabor WXIII
Sure, you could spend the day studing for finals....OR you could spend it watching anime with us!
[Sun. 5.4.2008]
This week's meeting is in Morrill N329, and boy is it an important one. This week we'll be doing officer's elections, so come vote for the people you want running the club next year. Additionally, later that night, right after the last episode of Gunsliger Girls and in place of the open showing, we'll be showing the first episodes of the 7 anime up for vote to watch next semester. We'll only end up watching two of them, so it'd be wise to come and see what you're voting for is like. The 7 anime are:
Claymore
Genshiken (seasons 1 & 2)
Higurashi no Naku Koro ni
Kurau: Phantom Memory
Princess Tutu
School Rumble
Utawarerumono
The actual voting for the anime won't take place until the following week (5/12), but again, this is your chance to see what the stuff you're voting for is like, so don't miss it!
[Mon. 4.28.2008]
The meeting this week is back in our usual spot, Morrill N329. I suppose I should mention that tomorrow we'll be watching the last episode of Nerima Daikon Brothers, but Busou Renkin and Gunslinger Girls we'll finish up next week cuz they're slightly longer. After tomorrow, Nerima will being going straight into the library, so if you missed any episodes and wanna see them, you'll have two weeks to come and take them out and watch before the library closes for the semester.
I also wanna remind everyone that next week, at the meeting on May 6, we'll be having the elections for new officers, so be sure to show up to the business meeting to vote. Also on that night, in place of the open showing, we'll be showcasing the first episodes of the 7 anime that will be up for vote to watch next semester. The actual voting on them won't happen till the week after, but if you wanna have an idea of what it is you're voting for, you should come and watch. We'll announce the list of stuff up for vote at the meeting tomorrow and it'll be posted to the website after that.
[Mon. 4.21.2008]
Hey all, unfortunatly we don't know what room we're in this week yet, and we probably won't find out until Tuesday at this point (damn school), but we'll let you all know via the mailing list the second we find out.
I also wanna remind everyone that on May 6th we'll be screening the first episodes of the anime up for vote to watch next semester, so be sure to show up if you wanna be involved in deciding that. Also, we're still taking suggestions for things to put up for vote, so if you've got something in mind, let us know. We may or may not also be having officer elections on that day, not positive yet, we'll decide that by the meeting tomorrow and let you all know.
[Sun. 4.13.2008]
Hey everybody, our meeting this week is in Hasbrouck 124, so be sure to show up there. Geez, we haven't been stuck in Hasbrouck since....Spring 2006. Hope we can avoid the technical difficulties there that I used to enjoy watching the old officers struggle with, back when I was a wee freshmen.
Also, good news! The site's been updated! The DVD and English Manga sections of the catalog are now up-to-date, as well as the Past Showings section. I suppose it doesn't matter a whole lot to those of you already here and are used to this stuff, but I'm sure the people who come in next year will appreciate it. Also, we're gonna try to keep the website updated more often now, so you can check here for info rather than just relying on the mailing list.
Another thing, we're working up a list of anime to put on the ballot to vote on for next semester, so if you have any ideas or suggestions, be sure to let us know sometime within, say, the next 2 weeks.
[Thurs. 3.13.2008]
I'm sure you'd all given up on me updating this again by now, hadn't you? Well, here I am, updating.
First: As at least those of you who go to meetings know, Yvette has resigned her position as President due to personal time constraints. While this doesn't really affect you directly, it does mean that WEDNESDAYS will be informal office hours only, ie. there won't necessarily be someone there.
Second: ANIME BOSTON! It's in 8 days. If you're not going, start saving up for next year so that you can go!!
Third: There are only two and a half semesters left of school, so if you would like to run for an office, start thinking about that now. Obviously if you're going for Treasurer or Librarian you'll be running against Clamps and Napoleon, but the other three offices are pretty much uncontested. I say pretty much because it's perfectly possible for me to run the website from Japan, and if I have to do that, I definitely will because it would be awesome.
Have a great Spring Break
.
[Tue. 2.19.2008]
It's Tuesday, and that means we have a meeting today.
The meeting will be in Morrill I N329, as it has been thes past couple of weeks. This is happening with happy regularity now, but don't expect it to continue.
Only five weeks and two days until Anime Boston 2008!!
[Mon. 2.11.2008]
Did I say I'd have this updated by Sunday? I meant Monday... -.-;;
Anyways, this week's meeting will be in Morrill N329 at 6pm on Tuesday the 11th. Regular showings will be shown, however Gunslinger Girl and Nerima Daikon Brothers will be switching places in the lineup.
Hopefully everyone remembered that today was the last day of Add/Drop, which heralds the REAL beginning of the semester. Good luck in all your chosen classes!
Office hours will be held regularly as posted on the Hours page. Please visit, we get lonely.
We are working on a blog/site if people are interested. Check it out by going here. The blog will be a more interactive site than this one. Stay tuned for more updates.
[Tue. 1.29.2008]
Welcome back everyone! Anime Club regular meetings will resume next week.
Look! The website works! I love the new website guy in the RSO office. He is amazing.
Office Hours have been updated. Also, if you have time on your hands around 2:30 on Tuesdays, stop by the office for our weekly open officers' meeting.

[Wed. 6.13.2007]
It's summer. Everything's closed until the fall. Go watch your own anime.
[Tues. 5.15.2007]
I lied. Today (Tuesday) will be our last official meeting of the semester. Come if you want to see how all those series we've been watching up to this point will end!
If anyone is interested, there is a group which meets at Barnes and Noble (at the Hampshire Mall) on the second Saturday of each month at 4:30pm to discuss manga and graphic novels. They would be happy to see anyone who wishes to come.
Another if anyone is interested: there is a Go group which meets at Rao's Coffee on Monday nights at 7pm. If you are interested in learning how to play, they're nice people and they would probably be willing to teach anyone who is interested in learning... they taught me!
We will be having our final marathon of the semester on Wednesday, May 16. Check the marathon schedule to see what will be showing and when it will show. The marathon will be held in THOMPSON 104, so don't go to Morrill.
If you have anything taken out from the library, please return it by the last meeting.
[Tues. 5.1.2007]
We will be back in Morill 329 tonight. No guarantees for next week though. -.-;;
We will be holding officer elections NEXT WEEK (5.8.2007) if you are interested in running, you should come to the meeting tonight, or contact one of the officers ASAP!!
We're still selling our VHS tapes. Buy them from us already!
Next week will be the last meeting of the semester. Come and see what cool treats we bring, and see the endings of all the series we've watched this semester!
We will be having a marathon on Reading Day. Watch this space for more details.
[Mon. 4.23.2007]
Anime Boston is now over, which means that the VHS sale is now on. Come buy our VHS so that we have room (and money) for more anime and manga in the library!
This week's meeting will be in Thompson 104 again. I don't know what's up with that, but it's really starting to bug me...
Officer's Pick on Tuesday will be the AMV contest winners from Anime Boston. If you wanted to see them, you should come at 6pm!!
The Anime and Manga class will be watching Pokemon this week. It will be in Japanese, one way or another, unless Professor Baird can't find a sub... In which case, don't look at us like it's OUR fault.
[Tues. 4.17.2007]
We're back in Morrill-329 tonight, so don't get confused.
We will be voting on showings for next semester tonight, so if you want a say in what we watch, show up. AMVs for each show will be screened first, followed by the voting.
Anime Boston is on Friday!! Make sure you've got a ride, a place to stay, and all of your costumes ready to go!
Condolences and sympathies to the friends and families of the students and teachers killed in yesterday's shooting at VA Tech.
[Mon. 4.09.2007]
This week's meeting will be in Thompson 104. If you don't know where that is, I suggest you find a map or ask an officer or a friend.
There WILL be a meeting next Tuesday (4.17) in spite of the fact that we will be following a Monday schedule for classes. This is the only way that we will be able to finish our series by the end of the semester.
Anime Boston is in 12 days. If you don't have a ride or a place to stay, you should probably find one quickly! Also, if you did not recieve pre-registration confirmation for Anime Boston, and you did register with us, you should check their website (www.animeboston.com) to make sure that you are on the list.
[Tues. 3.27.2007]
The meeting will be in the usual place at the usual time today. As usual.
Officer profiles have been updated with office hours for this semester. Feel free to show up during those times (or almost any time between noon and 1 on all weekdays) to browse the library or just hang out.

As usual, our meeting will be in Morrill 329 today. Be there for anime-y goodness!!
Spring Break is next week, so don't show up for a meeting then... nobody'll be there!!
[Mon. 2.26.2007]
UPDATE: Unless there is a last minute change, there will be NO Anime Club on Tuesday the 27th. The keys don't work for the room we got, so we can't show anything unless we get the right keys... but we won't be able to get them in time because we didn't know who to go to. Go figure.
Blame the beurocracy and we'll see you next week.
[Thur. 2.22.2007]
IMPORTANT!!! Next week's meeting will be held in Holdsworth 203. If you don't know where that it, I suggest looking at a map of the campus, because I don't know where it is either. This is subject to change if I can convince Prof. Baird to get us a better room with his super teacher powers, so keep checking back here.
Congratulations to our two new officers:
President: Yvette Chretien
Vice President: Nicole Lewis
Sorry if I spelled either name wrong!
Officer information will be updated accordingly when CSI isn't on in 20 minutes. ^_^
[Tues 2.13.2007]
Next week will be the elections for president and vice-president. Please try to show up as these positions are very important to the smooth running of this club.
Office hours until further notice will be as follows:
Monday/Wednesday/Friday: 12:15-1:00
Tuesday/Thursday: 11:00-12:00 and 12:40-2:00
If anyone is interested in sharing a hotel room during Anime Boston, please email Napoleon for more information.
[Thurs 2.1.2007]
First, I would like to apologize for those of you who showed up on Tuesday to find no meeting. My bad.
There are two officer positions which we will need filled. Both our president and vice-president are unable to continue in their offices. Any interested parties should show up to the meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 5 so that we can hold elections ASAP and commence training.
There will be a major change to the format of meetings this semester. After the main showings this semester, (see the Schedule page) we will be hosting the Anime and Manga class's weekly anime showing. There will be a different anime shown every week, and club members are welcome to stay and watch. The schedule will show which anime will be shown in the time slot, and we will try to tell you a week ahead of time what will be shown the following week.
[Sun 1.14.2007]
There will be emergency elections for the position of vice-president held at the second meeting following the start of the new semester. All parties interested in running for the position are encouraged to attend. However if you're not going to take the responsibility seriously, don't bother running.
The webmaster would also appreciate it if the former officers of the club would NOT make alterations to any part of the site without telling her first... it causes problems with the updating system.
[Sun 12.19.2006]
A new link has been posted on the Mailing List page so that interested members can join the mailing list without having to e-mail Sharon. I hope it's easier to use.
I trust everyone enjoyed the marathon & hope that ya'll have a wonderful winter break. Remember to return any last minute DVDs or manga to the library.
Good luck during finals week!
