Hey there, everyone!
So I know this is the last of the semester, but there are still some
announcement-Hey! sit down there, you can stand to listen to
these!-right, announcements that need to be said before you all go off
and enjoy the summer.
So, first things first!
The scheduled showings have been declared as of now! The winners are
R.O.D, the television series, and Sayanora Zetsubou Sensei. We hope
that you approve of these, and hope that you will enjoy them in the
coming semester.
Also to announce, there is some wicked awesome stuff going on during the summer!
If you're in Boston, and hunting for things to do, look no further!
The New England Browncoats – fans of most things Whedon, have notified
me of a couple of events going on in June.
1. June 19th, Amber Benson, Christopher Golden and Tom Sniegoski will
be doing a one night signing at Pandemonium Books in Cambridge. Amber
and Chris have done the Animated series Ghosts of Albion for the BBC.
2. June 20th will be a showing of Dr. Horrible and Serenity at the
Coolidge Corner Theatre in Brookline.
If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact Shelley Hachman
at dawnsister@comcast.net
Even if you are not interested with these, I still recommend checking out the website of the Coolidge Corner Theatre. There are many showings that are cult classics, and definitely worth seeing!
Next off, there has been great noise over a new band that is going to
be in the USA during this summer, and they're called the VAMPS. The
band is a collaboration of L’arc~en~Ciel’s front man HYDE and Oblivion
Dust’s guitarist K.A.Z. They'll be here for 3 weeks, playing in 10
different cities. If you would like to learn more, check out their
official website at vampsxxx.com.
Alright, that's it. I hope you all have a great summer and don't get
too banged up, We don't want anyone in casts when they get back here.
I hope to see you at the awesome anime cons that will be held during
the summer, and I hope that you have a great time!
See Ya!
[Tues. 5.12.2009]
Dear members of the Umass Anime Club,
I am sorry to inform you that this is the end. The last meeting of the
semester is finally upon us. We have gathered faithfully every week to
celebrate the art form known as anime, and now that time is over.
I hope that you may join me for one final viewing in Morrill, room
N329, at 6 pm, on the date of 12 May 2009, so that we may mourn the
end of this time together.
But let us not mourn long! For while we sigh in sorrow, there is still
work to be done, if we are to celebrate the coming of a new semester
this autumn! We must choose, for our own greater good, the scheduled
showings that will be presented. This past week, the office has been
open for early votes, but this Tuesday, the voting and debating
culminate. We will choose two anime to stand tall, and be shown each
week, and every week, before our open showings. So I ask of you, come
and help us choose. Help, so that you may have a pleasurable semester
come the fall.
I urge you all to do your duty, as members of the Umass Amherst Anime Club!
