UMASS Tae Kwon Do is open to all students, faculty, staff, and alumni of any of the five colleges. We practice together several times a week to improve our skill and to prepare for competition in collegiate and open tournaments. We offer a comprehensive system of fitness, martial discipline, and self defense. Our goal is to practice hard, have fun, and represent our schools with honor at competitions.
We welcome newcomers at any time, and practice is always free! Please come to any of our regularly scheduled practices to observe or participate. If you want to participate, please come dressed in athletic attire. If you have a dobok or gi from another school, feel free to wear it. We ask everybody who enters our dojang (practice hall) to be willing to abide by our dojang etiquette.
We practice World Taekwondo Federation style, which is governed by the kukkiwon in South Korea. We hold belt promotion tests several times a year, and all belts are certified by the WTF.
Umass Tae Kwon Do is proud to be a member of the INCTL: Ivy Northeast Collegiate Taekwondo League
