Who is Eligible for our Services?
All UMass Amherst students who have paid the Student Activities Trust Fund (SATF) Fee or the Graduate Senate Tax are eligible for services from the SLSO. Students who have not paid these fees may receive advice by paying a small fee for a consultation.
Faculty and staff members who are taking classes at the University on a tuition waiver are not eligible for our services, nor are students at any other college or university. Also, legal ethics restrict us from advising or representing one student against another. Since all UMass Amherst students are potentially our clients, we cannot advise or represent either party in student versus student conflicts.
