activist Shirin Ebadi was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for
her struggle for basic human rights in Iran.
Her
award ceremony is held on December 10th in Oslo City Hall. More

Nazanin Afshin-Jam crowned Miss World Canada 2003
Nazanin
Afshin-Jam, a 24-year-old Iraninan-Canadian residing in Vancouver,
has been crowned Miss World Canada 2003. Nazanin will be traveling
to China in December to compete for the Miss World title. More
Iranian

to the 2002 census 69% of Iranian-Americans hold Bachelor degrees
or above, and more than 28% hold graduate degrees, making them
the highest educated group in the U.S.

are the founders of some 380 major national firms, and the CEOs
of more than 550 national companies, many of them among the
Fortune 2,000 companies. The total contribution of Iranian-American
community to the U.S. economy is estimated at more than $600
billion per year.
