UMOC Whitewater Rafting

Rafters on the Deerfield river (Dryway section)

Long time UMOC'er Al Howcroft (alberth@housing.umass.edu) traditionally leads four summer rafting trips on the Dryway section of the Deerfield River. There are several class IV rapids on this section of river which make for some very exciting passages! All trips meet at the Kanoe Barn (aka the cold storage building just up the hill from the Textbook Annex). Trips are limited to 14 people and are open to anybody over the age of 14. No experience is necessary but you must be a good swimmer. Trips are extremely cheap at a cost of only $16 including gas ($17 for non-UMass people). Commercial trips on this river are substantially more expensive.
