| Coordinator |
Make sure all tasks for the session overall get taken care of. Help with removing/replacing pool lane lines. After the session ends make sure all personal belongings get taken out of pool area, all pool doors are shut tight and locked and our lifeguard has ride home. Facilitate post-session socializing if people feel like going out. Make sure everyone gets invited and has rides. |
| Money |
Show up at initial meeting time to collect people's money for the session. During the session don't be afraid to give everyone a friendly reminder to pay, especially if you're not sure they have. |
| Boats |
Show up at initial meeting time to help all newcomers and other boat users get a boat and gear that fits well. Make sure all club gear is put away properly when the session is over. |
| Teacher |
Teach/check any newcomers on doing a proper wet exit. For liability reasons, at minimum everyone in the pool must be positively known as able to do an unassisted, unsupervised wet exit. If there are any doubts about anyone they must demonstrate their wet exit before being allowed to be unsupervised. After wet exits you teach a lesson on rolling. One approach could be teaching hip snaps from the wall, hip snaps from a partner's bow, rolls from a partner's bow, then rolls with a paddle. |
| Assistant |
Help the session Teacher with demonstrating a proper wet exit. Help newcomers learn their wet exit by spotting for them and giving them feedback until they can do their wet exit properly and confidently. Help people learning to roll by giving demonstrations, answering questions and spotting for them. |
| Cleanup |
Make sure all boats are cleaned out before they go in the pool. This is especially important for any boats that have been outside. After the session make sure pool surface, bottom, all deck areas and gutters are free of all materials that could have come out of people's boats. That includes leaves, sticks, grass, pieces of foam, duct tape, etc. Make sure standing water in the doorway areas to the locker rooms is squeegeed away. |
