Caving Gear List

Caves tend to have a constant temperature of around 55 degrees year round so you want to make sure that you dress accordingly. Another consideration is whether or not there is water in the cave, if it is a wet cave you'll need to be prepared for colder conditions. Only wear clothes that you don't mind getting dirty as caves are are filled with all kinds of mud and dust, as a general rule if it's something you care about, don't wear it. Also try to avoid wearing anything cotton (synthetics are best).

-long underwear
-wool socks
-old pair of sneakers or boots
-thin gloves (to protect the cave as well as your hands)
-complete change of extra clothes
-water and snacks for the day
-you may also want a small backup flashlight

What will be provided
-headlamps

-helmet
