Stories of our Heroin
Sally
Soybean, was born in Canada in 1974. Little is known for certain
about her early years, except that she was in California during
the mid 1980's, learning the values of vegetarianism and veganism
as well as the benefits of a Zen lifestyle.
Sally
Soybean is a rather eccentric personality. She has grown to be
somewhat of a folk hero in her own time. Traveling across
country, and sometimes across the globe, Sally educates the
public about healthy vegetarian eating habits and teaches farmers
the benefits of growing soybeans as a staple crop. It is even
rumored that she has helped start several small vegetarian
restaurants in the Midwest!
During
the summer of 1998 Sally appeared in Amherst, Massachusetts to
spread the values of vegetarianism. During her visit she met up
with several members of the Mutant Union, including myself, who took her in
as a fellow Mutant.
Sally
quickly grew fond of MU and pledged herself as a lifetime
member. In exchange for the worldly knowledge of MU she told us
countless stories of her adventures and some very tasty recipes!
Sally promised to pass on the word of MU to others and we vowed
to spread her knowledge of Vegetarian lifestyle. Before she left
she promised to return to share her adventures with MU every
time she was in the area.
Sally Soybean, we salute you! -BOOGA
