Affinity Groups are designed to build smaller communities within our
larger Graduate/International Christian Fellowship Members come
together out of a common interest and strive to develop strong
relationships with one another through Christ. For more information on a
particular affinity group, or to join one, please contact the specific
group's leader.
- The PRAYER AFFINITY GROUP
meets together to pray for one another, the group, and our world.
The group has an e-mail prayer chain and hosts on-campus Prayer and
Reflection meetings. Led by Allyn Asinas (aasinas at
chem.umass.edu) & Scott Hill
(sahil0 at philos.umass.edu).
- The SERVICE AFFINITY
GROUP spreads Jesus' love by doing service
projects to meet the needs of our group and our community. The
group recently participated in a Lenten Fast Service Project, giving up
one meal each week to raise money for groceries for the Food Bank of
Western Massachusetts. Led by 'Becca Johnson (becca at
psych.umass.edu).
- The RECREATION AFFINITY GROUP meets together to play sports,
exercise, and play board games. In the past, the group has gone
ice-skating at the Mullin Center, apple-picking at Hamilton Orchards,
and leaf-peeping on a hike up Mt. Toby.
- The BOOK STUDY AFFINITY GROUP meets every-other Wednesday morning
to read and
discuss a book (not the Bible) that has implications for our lives as
Christians. The group recently finished "Finding Darwin's God: A
Scientist's Search for Common Ground Between God and Evolution" by
Kenneth R. Miller.
