Voting:
1. The meeting will open with the reading or who has voting privileges.
2. The majority of voting members must be present in order for the voting to occur. If there is no quorum, the Executive Board votes to either proceed with the meeting as planned or reschedule an emergency voting meeting.
3. Next, in alphabetical order of the final show titles, a prewritten synopsis and/or the nomination forms of each show will be read.
a. After all synopses and nomination forms for all shows are read, there will be a question and answer period that must be focused only on gathering information. It is the responsibility of the Chairperson to assure this focus, refusing to floor opinions and other biased comments.
b. The question and answer period will be limited to fifteen minutes.
4.Discussion
First, anyone is allowed to state opinions and points of information about the first show presented. People who wish to speak must raise their had and wait to be recognized by the Chairperson. They should be recognized in order of who raised their hand first. A written list of this order should be kept by the Secretary.
a. People's opinion comments must be one minute long and end when the Treasurer calls time.
b. The Chairperson may cut a speaker off if that person's comment has already been made.
c. The discussion period of each show will last ten minutes and will be terminated by the Treasurer. After the discussion period is terminated, anyone who is still on the list will not be allowed to speak.</
5. Pro/Con
There will then be a summary Pro/Con debate.
a.Anyone may participate in this summary Pro/Con debate.
b. The summary begins when the Chairperson announces the first show in alphabetical order by title.
c. The first person to be recognized by raising his/her hand has thirty seconds to comment either Pro or Con on the given show.
d. The next comment to be made must oppose the view of the first comment. (Example: If the first comment is "Pro" the second comment must be a "Con" and vice versa.)
e. A speaker must identify his/her position at the beginning of the comment as either Pro or Con.
f. The Pro/Con debate will be limited to three speakers of each side. (So the order will be Pro, Con, Pro, Con, Pro, Con; or vice versa.)
g. After the Pro/Con summary for the first show, the Chairperson will announce the presented show as closed and repeat section 2i. 7 for the remaining shows.
6. When the summary is complete, ballots will be given to voting members.
a. If there are only three finalist shows then the process skips to Section 2i. 8.
b. If more than three shows are presented for the final vote, members will vote on which show the DON'T want to see UMTG produce.
b1. This vote must pass by a majority.
b2. The show that is chosen as the least liked show is removed from the final list of shows.
b3. This process repeats until there are only three finalists shows.
7.When there are three finalist shows, the group votes on which show it DOES want to produce. The final show is decided simply by which show receives the most votes.
8. After voting in the show for the next semester, the group must choose an alternative show. This show will be produced if the first show chosen cannot be produced for any reason.
a. The group uses the previous two final shows to choose alternative shows.
b. This is decided simply by which show receives the most votes.
