The Umass Theatre Guild presents:

JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR
"Director, senior Tim Fisk, has steered the musical away from its preconceived roots in the barren lands of Israel and set the rock opera in a Las Vegas-like casino, appropriately dubbed the Hosanna Cabana. But don't be fooled by the glittering lights and fabulous characters. 'This is a story about love, intimacy and a poignant human need that is not fulfilled in this world,' Fisk said, 'It's a tragedy about the loss of an enlightened one. It tells the a udience as to show that it's not too late to begin embracing one another.'
The talented cast and artistic board of 35 students bring the story of Jesus Christ's last days on Earth into lights. The casino, complete with villains, a drag queen, showgirls and intense choreography, functions to go beyond the religious aspect of the story. It serves as a medium to reveal the ills that any present-day martyr would see."

Jesus Christ Superstar will be performed at Bowker Auditorium, March 25-28.

Tickets for JCS are now available at the Fine Arts Center Box Office, (413) 545-2511
