Interested in rowing in the fall? The team is looking for competitive athletes; rowers (6’ and up), and coxswains (130lbs or less) to join the novice squad in the fall. All freshmen and sophomores are encouraged to attend an informational meeting, and tryouts at the beginning of the semester. No previous rowing experience is required, although a background in cross-country, cycling, or swimming will be beneficial.

Wes Piermarini class of ‘05 has become one of the newest members of the US Olympic squad, after he and his partner Elliot Hovey won the Olympic Team Trials in the 2x event. Piermarini, a walk on, was a three time New England Gold Medalist, won the ECACs National Regatta, won bronze at the IRAs, and competed in the Royal Henley Regatta, while rowing for UMass. Outside of UMass he has also won the Canadian Henley, in both sweep and sculling events. The entire UMass rowing family would like to congratulate Wes on his accomplishment, and wish him the best of luck in Beijing!
