University of Massachusetts Amherst -- Circle K
Aimee & Suzanne's backyard at 7p.m.
Members Present: Suzanne, Corinne, Jenny, Katerina, Melissa, Erin,
Aimee, Nakeisha, Aaron, Tashamma and Mousumi.
This was our final meeting of Circle K Umass for the Spring semester. It
was a cookout kind of pot luck dinner thing where members brought food
and or drink. There were ten Kiwanians present as well -- some stopping
in on their bike ride! There was frisbee throwing, dancing, grilling and
talking. I think it is safe to say a good time was had by all.
As far as serious topics are concerned, we went over the booking for the
credit card sham next year. We voted on holding it in the Campus Center in
September of 1997. It will be within the first week of school in the
hopes that we can snag all the incoming frosh. Corinne is going to look
into the technicalities of getting the space. We also met our new
advisor, Ted Zervas -- the Kiwanian, dentist and brother of Katerina.
Aaron mentioned that our web site is now an offical deal by the
University and our new address is much simpler and shorter --
http://www.umass.edu/rso/circlek/ We also voted on doing the Not Bread
Alone food shelter next semester. Our plan is to go when we all can make
it and try to be better organized about the whole process.
We are also sending a card to the family of Brian, the District Governor
of New Jersey. I have also established that for the summer, each member
is to keep track of the service projects or volunteer work they do and we
will make a big giant summer report in September. Goodbyes were
exchanged and we all went home happier and filled with hot dogs.
