Regular Meeting: Campus Center Basement University of Massachusetts Circle K Members Present: Suzanne Harnois, Jennifer St. Sauveur, Katerina Zervas, Melissa Bell, Erin Bertschy, Aimee Charlebois, Aaron Smith and Tashamma Smith Minutes: Here goes! We started off with Suzanne asking for committee chair applications. The stream of papers was so tremendous, she was knocked off her feet! Both me and Aaron had to help her sort through. Aaron also had to drive her home because her car was already full of applications and she needed more room. Actually, only Erin sent one in. : ) Little joke there. Katerina said she has talked with the Amherst Survival Center. It may be possible for us to volunteer there, but she needs to talk to someone else I guess. She will let us know at the next meeting. Aaron asked about Earth day plans (which is April 19, mark your calendars now!). Suzanne is going to try and find something for us to clean up (like my room) and Mt. Holyoke is doing a hike/picnic thing on that day as well. So we might do both, or just stay in Amherst -- more details on that next week. Regardless, Suzanne won't be here, because she'll be at the cape! What a freakin...I mean, wonderful president! : ) Calendars were distributed to all members (and what fine members they are too...wink wink). The details for Bentley "fun" day were reviewed by Aimee and it looks like only Aimee and Suzanne will be going! I might be going with Erin, but only if my parents let me use the tank for the ride back. The service project is to chaperon a dance and to clean up a park after the scavenger hunt on Saturday. There are also a number of "unofficial" parties and if you don't know what that means you obviously haven't been in college too long! We don't have any word yet on the food donations, but I KNOW Corinne is going to remember this week and tell us at this meeting. Suzanne is also going to look into cleaning up a park or something as well on Amherst day (which is April 26th check your calendars!!!) Aaron stressed that we should stick together on Earth day and we said sure, but not too close Aaron... Newsletters were also distributed from Katerina and they kick butt! We are so proud. Erin them summed up the Key Club convention this past weekend which was a gas (as Nicki Stoya would say...). WE might be having possible K-Family relations with the Springfield Key Club because Suzanne left information with April at the convention. Hopefully, we will be in touch soon (touch me right there baby, oh yeah) and we will either visit their club meetings which are at an obscene hour in the morning or they will come crash one of ours! We'll have to see but that would kick I think. I was really disappointed at convention that I didn't get to talk to persons about Umass or Circle K. *sigh* But I think we'll get another chance. : ) Sacred Heart is having their charter order on Sunday the 27th of April and that is in Connecticut where Barry Manilow is playing on April 14th. Of course, I'm not going, but if anyone would like ticket information, he is also playing in numerous other places in the Midwest. Mt. Holyoke finally rescheduled their banquet for the 29th of April. That's in Northampton so we should all really try to go. It's at 6pm. May 4th is the Walk for Hunger which I think we are looking into doing. Katerina then asked for articles for the newsletter from members. So go crazy! Write about something cool or interesting. I mentioned you could write something on the weird quirks (idiosyncrasies) your roommate has, not that I would do that... heh heh heh... Our last meeting of the year is going to be May 14th *sniff sniff* which is also the last day of classes. Can you believe the year is almost over?! We will be going to a Kiwanis auction the week before in place of a regular meeting. Leslie is leaving Circle K because she doesn't feel our causes are good enough or we do enough. Apparently, saving dying children isn't a good enough cause! Suzanne reviewed the office hour list, and it will begin next week with the official times. Don't' forget! Oh, and Corinne has made the purchase order for the key which we will get soon. -Jennifer
