Arab-American Comedians Dean Obeidallah and Maysoon Zayid, the co-founders
of the annual New York Arab-American Comedy Festival, are coming to the
Orlando Improv for one special show on Thursday, April 21, 2005 at 8:00 PM.
This will be the first ever all Arab-American stand up comedy show in Florida.
Dean and Maysoon have recently been featured on CNN's "Wolf Blitzer
Reports," and CNN's "Inside The Middle East." They also co-host a radio show
in NYC on WBAI 99.5FM which presents Arab-American artists. Dean and Maysoon have
performed comedy together across the United States as well as in Beirut and
Ramallah in the Middle East.
Maysoon Zayid was recently featured in a segment on Muslim comics on NBC's
"Nightly News" and she has been seen on MTV, "As the World Turns" and ABC's
"20/20." Maysoon also runs an art program for disabled and wounded

Dean Obeidallah has been seen on Comedy Central's "Tough Crowd," ABC's
"20/20," and he can be seen in the bonus material of the DVD version of
Michael Moore's "Fahrenheit 911" in the section entitled "Arab-American comedians."
Dean has written jokes that have appeared on NBC's "Saturday Night Live's

Dean and Maysoon created the New York Arab-American Comedy Festival in 2003
as a showcase for the talents of Arab-American actors, comics, playwrights
and filmmakers. The third annual Festival will take place over four nights n
New York City this November after overwhelming positive responses and sold
out performances in its first two years. It is the only festival in the country
