Fareen Parvez is Associate Professor of Sociology and Senior Research Scholar with the UMass Resistance Studies Initiative at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and a 2019-20 member of the Institute of Advanced Study in Princeton.She is the author of Politicizing Islam: the Islamic Revival in France and India (Oxford University Press, 2017) and is currently researching the political economy of debt in marginalized Muslim and Dalit communities in India.Read more

Carol Kalafatic (Quechua, Spanish & Croatian) is a Resistance Studies Fellow with tthe Resistance Studies Initiative at UMass Amherst and has been working alongside Indigenous Peoples (IPs) since 1991, as an organizer, workshop provider, trans-disciplinary scholar, and policy advocate for IPs’ self-determination and food sovereignty.
