Application procedure and recommended time to declare/apply:

    Students should speak to the Chief Undergraduate Advisor, Professor Morzuch at any time to discuss the major.

Recommended General Education Courses:

    None.

Special Instructions for first-year students:

    Students should take RES EC 102 or ECON 103 and ECON 104.

    If previous math background is not adequate to enable placement in MATH 127 or MATH 131, they should also take appropriate lower level math courses.

Special Instructions for transfers with sophomore/junior standing:

    Students should take:

    MATH 127 or 131

    RES EC 102 or ECON 103

    ECON 104

    RES EC 211/212 or another introductory statistics course

Summary of Requirements for the Major:

    Total number credits required = 65

    Twelve courses (including Junior Year Writing) in the Core, and then ten courses in one of six option areas: Managerial Economics in Food and Resource Industries , Consumer and Family Economics, Food Marketing Economics, Natural Resource Economics, Agricultural Economics, or Economics of Public Policy for Natural Resources and the Food System. What are the requirements for a minor?

    MATH 127 or 131

    One of the following: RES EC 211, RES EC 212, STATIS 111, STATIS 140

    RES EC 102 or ECON 103

    Four courses in one of the six above-listed option areas.
