Fighting Cancer: UMass Engineer Develops New Immunotherapy Technique
The image above shows macrophages (red) engulfing cancer cells (green). Cancer immunotherapy may see a revolutionary change due to new research by UMass Amherst engineering professor Ashish Kulkarni. Kulkarni and colleagues from Brigham and Women’s Hospital are reprogramming specific macrophages to eat tumor cells.
