Welcome to the IBM and University of Massachusetts Amherst Partnership Web Portal. This site has been designed to bring together the UMass Amherst and IBM communities. Supported by a joint partnership team, it contains links to projects, programs, and information that can support you whether you're a student, alumnus, or faculty or staff member of the UMass Amherst community. Created in 1999, the IBM/UMass Amherst Partnership strives to identify projects of mutual benefit and areas alumni can lend a hand.

The focus areas for the Partnership support IBM's and UMass Amherst's interests: research, teaching, information technology as applied to many disciplines, and recruiting. Leveraging IBM's Academic Initiative, an innovative approach to education, IBM has provided the tools needed to transfer skills and prepare students for their place in the business world.

Although successes abound in these areas, we are always looking for new and innovative ways of drawing the two institutions closer. More on the Partnership.
