Mission Statement

Background
As the campus seeks to diversify its sources of support and as state and federal governments begin to mandate industry participation in grant opportunities, faculty and staff across campus seek to establish and grow successful industry relationships more than ever. At a meeting convened by the Vice Provost for Research in 2006, a number of faculty and staff expressed the desire for a campus-wide forum through which they could share experiences, learn from others, and help the campus develop best practices for the full life cycle of industry/university (I/U) relations. Staff in the office of Research Liaison and Development will begin to facilitate these meetings in 2007 on behalf of the campus community.

Mission
The mission of the Industry Liaison Network is to bring together members of campus units who are on the front lines of working with industry to collaboratively enhance our capacity to support successful industry relations.

Goals
The goals for the network are to:

  • Help build a sense of community among members of the network;
