Expanding the Capacity for Research and Innovation
The Amherst campus of the University of Massachusetts attracts over $100 million in externally sponsored research each year, making it one of the nation's Research Extensive institutions. Our faculty includes top-ranked scientists who take an interdisciplinary approach to problem solving, and who produce new technologies and ideas that help spur the economy and support national competitiveness. The Research Area provides services that support the growth and expansion of research and scholarly activity on the Amherst Campus. Our goal is to foster collaborative research, innovation, technology commercialization and entrepreneurship by providing expertise, guidance and access to funding.
