IACUC Meeting and Training Schedules

Fall Schedule 2008

IACUC meetings  (and corresponding due date for protocol submissions):

All IACUC meetings will take place in Room 104, Research Administration Building, 70 Butterfield Terrace , at 10:00 a.m.

November 12, 2008 (October 30, 2008, 4:00 p.m.)

Animal Users' Training. Effective September 1, 2007 the animal user' training for new users includes a classroom component (taken first), and online modules and quizzes. You may not use live animals for research or teaching until you have completed both the classroom and the online training components. This requirement applies to faculty, postdocs, undergraduate and graduate students, staff, instructors and lab visitors. If you are a TA and have contact with live animals please call Barbara at 545-0668 regarding IACUC training requirements for TAs.


Classroom Training

Fall 2008 IACUC Training schedule:

August 28, 2008 at 1:00 p.m.
September 5 , 2008 at 1:00 p.m.
September 11, 2008 at 10:00 a.m.
September 24, 2008 at 10:00 a.m.
October 7, 2008 at 2:00 p.m.
November 3, 2008 at 10:00 a.m.
December 9, 2008 at 1:00 p.m.

Call 545-0668 to sign up for a scheduled training session. Call 545-0668 if you are a group of 4 or more and wish to schedule a class.

All classes are held in 104 Research Administration Building. Directions to the Research Administration Building.

Online Training

The online training component consists of the CITI training course "Working with the IACUC Course" plus species-specific course(s). CITI courses are a set of modules. After each module you are prompted to take a quiz. You need to score at least 75% to pass the course. Instructions for taking UMass CITI Animal Users Online Training.

Your IACUC animal user training certificate is valid for 3 years from the date you complete the CITI courses.
