What is E‐Verify and how will it affect my ability to appoint personnel using my grant? The Department of Homeland Security has now introduced another employment verification process to insure that we will not hire any illegal aliens on federal funds. The new clause will be included in some government contracts that are in excess of $100,000 and have duration of at least 120 days. Please come in and learn what this requirement involves and how it may affect the hiring process on these contracts.

We will provide an overview of how the campus‐wide software system, GAMS, can assist you in building a proposal budget, create an IPF, and route the IPF electronically.

We will cover an array of topics including: rebudgeting, PI transfer, sabbaticals, invention reports, progress reports, no cost extensions, subcontractors, and more. For most grants, NIH passes down “Expanded Authorities” that allow the University to maintain the paper trail required for audit on many post award actions. This coffee chat will provide specifics on post award actions: how do you initiate, who do you contact, etc. Post award actions that always require sponsor approval will be specified. Time will be provided for specific questions and discussions.
