From 1475 to 1700, this collection now contains about 100,000 of over 125,000 titles listed in Pollard & Redgrave's Short-Title Catalogue (1475-1640) and Wing's Short-Title Catalogue (1641-1700) and their revised editions, as well as the Thomason Tracts (1640-1661) collection and the Early English Books Tract Supplement ("small items such as broadsides and pamphlets...collected into 'scrapbooks,' or tract volumes, classified by various criteria such as dates or topics"). EEBO provides citations and page images for ca. 100,000 complete texts. In addition, ca. 25,000 texts have been coded using Standard Generalized Markup Language in order to make them searchable word- by-word as well as to display both the coded text and the corresponding original page images. |
