Upcoming CEA/REMP Seminar: Jose Luis Padilla at UMass

 The Center for Educational Assessment at UMass is very pleased to have Professor Jose Luis Padilla of the University of Granada, Spain, as a visiting scholar in Spring 2008. On Monday, May 5, 2008, Professor Padilla will speak at UMass at noon in Hills South Room 151. His talk is entitled "The cognitive interview technique: Why, what and what for?"

Abstract: 'The aim of the talk is to show the usefulness of cognitive interview (CI) techniques for improving the comparability of cross-cultural and cross-national measurements, obtained by adapted tests or questionnaires. The main methodological characteristic of CI will be presented. Lastly, some ideas about how to use CI to get validity evidence of response process or internal validity evidence in standard settings will be discussed.'
