Professor Sireci is the NERA President!
Professor Stephen G. Sireci of the Center for Educational Assessment at the University of Massachusetts was recently elected President of the Northeastern Educational Research Association (NERA), and formally took over in that role at the conclusion of the 37th annual NERA conference held October 18-20, 2006 in Kerhonkson, NY, at the Hudson Valley Resort and Spa. NERA is the American Educational Research Association's Northeastern region affiliate, and encourages and promotes educational research by providing a forum for the discussion of ideas, the interchange of information through publications, and the recruitment of active members who are interested in educational research. As a longtime member of NERA, Professor Sireci has served the association in multiple capacities for many years, and he brings great enthusiasm and new ideas to this important leadership role.
Looking ahead to next year's NERA conference, April Zenisky of the Center will co-chair the 2007 conference program along with Amy R. Dresher of Educational Testing Service.
