Mills of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants gave the closing keynote address for the 13th annual Innovations in Testing conference of the Association of Test Publishers, held at the Westin Mission Hills Resort and Spa in Palm Springs, CA. The abstract for their presentation is: "For every major technical advance on the horizon for credentialing exams and achievement tests such as new item types, item review methodology, optimal test assembly, methods for setting and validating performance standards, test delivery (paper and pencil versus computer), test security, and score reporting, great challenges remain to insure with these advances that score validity will be increased. The two speakers will look at several of the most important technical advances from the perspective of the administrator/practitioner and psychometrician and consider the potential of each advance, and the research that remains to be completed to insure score validity."
