UMass Welcomes Visitors from ETS

On Monday, November 16, 2009, the Research and Evaluation Methods Program will welcome researchers from Educational Testing Service in Princeton, New Jersey, to campus. The visitors include Ida Lawrence, Senior Vice President for Research & Development; John Mazzeo, Vice President for Statistics and Psychometrics; and UMass alumna Mary Pitoniak, Lead Program Administrator in Research & Development/Associate Project Director for NAEP Research & Development.

During their visit, UMass faculty, students, and staff will provide the ETS researchers with an overview of some of the current projects and research in progress at the Center for Educational Assessment. In addition, Drs. Lawrence, Mazzeo, and Pitoniak will speak about ETS Research and Development activities, followed by an informal gathering with students and faculty.

Beginning in January of 2010, ETS and the Center will begin a joint collaboration around research questions, test analyses, and the professional development of testing documents.
